About Me
Hello and welcome! I’m Kirsten, founder and owner of The Lost Sanctuary, LLC and The Hygge Girl. I am a multi-media artist, photographer, writer, crafter, designer and life-long learner. I create original pieces of artwork, design digital products, make limited, handcrafted items, and write about anything that sparks magic and passion within. This multi-faceted approach allows me to blend my creativity with practicality and thus, bring my offering to a wider audience.
The Lost Sanctuary began as a vision of creating a space for anyone who feels lost or would like to, metaphorically, get lost, into a sanctuary that is safe, cozy and nurturing. A sanctuary to breathe again, to remember who you are and where you are going by sharing topics, ideas, products and being part of a supportive community.
Hygge, pronounced “Hue-Gah,” is the Danish art of building a sanctuary of coziness. Any experience, item or space that creates a feeling of coziness, contentment, simplicity and well-being is hygge! The Hygge Girl is simply who I am, and the lifestyle I am cultivating, to embrace everything which is hygge into all areas of my life. My hope is that by sharing my experiences, which bring me joy, purpose and fulfillment, that your life may also be enriched in the exchange. When an idea takes hold in my mind’s eye, I’m driven to pursue the outcome. I enjoy learning and exploring, forever asking “what if…” and “why not…” so I may develop my own way forward, often hands-on and always with extreme curiosity! I believe art is the freedom of the soul, expressing itself, unencumbered and uninhibited.
